The City of Thunder Bay is inviting residents to share their feedback on Thunder Bay Transit Services through a public survey. This initiative is part of the City’s efforts to update its Asset Management Plan and begin work towards transforming transit to support service excellence and encourage ongoing ridership growth.
The Asset Management Plan helps the City make informed decisions about service delivery related to infrastructure and assets. Provided input will be crucial as the transformation of city transit evolves into a new and improved hybrid model of public transit that includes a combination of attractive fixed route and On Demand service. The information gathered in the survey will help identify and understand areas for improvement and investment priorities and ensure that City Transit Services align with the expectations and requirements of residents.
“Gathering feedback from residents on what levels of service are expected from the assets owned and operated by the City is an important part of developing the Asset Management Plan” explains Amy Coomes, Program Lead – Asset Management. “This information helps us to better understand people’s experiences, concerns and needs, and to manage our assets to address those concerns and meet those needs, while also planning for the service requirements of the future.”
Residents are encouraged to take part in the survey, which is available until April 11, at: www.thunderbay.ca/getinvolved. The survey takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and responses will remain anonymous. The data collected will help inform the Asset Management Plan and the Transform Transit project.
