November 4, 2016- The Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 87 advised the City this evening that its Union membership has voted to accept the City's offer.
"CUPE Local 87 employees play a vital role in providing services to the community," said Norm Gale, City Manager. "We are pleased that the Union has voted to accept the City's offer for a new collective agreement and that the parties have prevented any disruption to a number of key services to residents. It's a credit to the bargaining teams on both sides."
The terms will be disclosed after the deal is presented to City Council for ratification on November 14, 2016.
CUPE Local 87 represents more than 700 inside and outside City workers.
