After closing last Thursday due to a failure of the in-slab ice cooling system, Delaney Arena will reopen tomorrow, Nov. 15, following a successful interim repair.

“Without prompt action by Arena staff last week when they detected the problem, more ice time would have been lost,” said City Manager Norm Gale. “I’m pleased, on behalf of all ice-time users, that Delaney Arena will be back to normal so quickly.”

Over the weekend the problem with the in-slab cooling system was isolated and addressed. The system’s brine was refilled, and all lines pressure tested. Full repairs will commence once the ice rental season winds up in the spring of 2023.

The City’s Recreation & Culture department will work with groups to re-schedule ice rentals as operations return to normal.
