JUNE, 2023

WHEREAS, the City of Thunder Bay is home to a proud and vibrant Italian-Canadian community that has made significant, important, and long lasting contributions to our community; and

WHEREAS, Italian Heritage Month provides an opportunity to acknowledge the rich history and culture of the Italian community in Thunder Ba, and to recognize the importance of preserving and promoting Italian heritage and culture for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, during Italian Heritage Month we celebrate the cultural heritage, achievements and contributions of Italian Canadians in our community; and

WHEREAS, Italian Heritage Month proved a unique opportunity to learn more about Italian history, culture and heritage through food, music and art.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Ken Boshcoff, the Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim June as “Italian Heritage Month” in the City of Thunder Bay.
