January 5, 2017 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, the Lakehead University Thunderwolves and Tbaytel have partnered to release limited edition cards of this year's varsity hockey team that highlight fire safety messaging.

"Fire and life safety education is one of our top priorities," said Anthony Stokaluk, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Public Education Officer. "These cards give us a unique way to promote our fire safety messages to Thunder Bay's hockey fans."

The player cards will be available to fans in attendance at the Thunderwolves' Friday, Jan. 6, home game at the Fort William Gardens. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and players from the Thunderwolves will also be attending a number of elementary schools and minor hockey events promoting fire safety and distributing the new cards in the coming months.

"The Lakehead Thunderwolves would like to extend a huge thank you to Tbaytel and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue for making these hockey cards a reality again this year," said Jason Mallon, Lakehead Thunderwolves' Varsity Hockey Executive Director. "Tbaytel is a tremendous supporter of our community and this could not have happened without their support. Our players really look forward to the school visits promoting fire safety and interacting with the students."
