June 12, 2017 - Thunder Bay's Live on the Waterfront has been selected as a stop in the free ONtour concert series, part of a year-long line-up of events marking Ontario's 150th anniversary and celebrating the province.

The ONtour concert will be presented in Thunder Bay at Live on the Waterfront on August 9. ONtour Thunder Bay will feature Magic!, Kardinal Offishall and Midnight Shine. Live on the Waterfront and all ONtour concerts are free and open to music-lovers of all ages and there are no tickets required.

"Music is magic - able to cross generational, cultural, and linguistic boundaries," said Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. "ONtour is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to share in this communal experience, to build community pride, and to create cherished memories for years to come."

ONtour will provide the soundtrack for the Summer of '17, stopping in more than 20 communities across the province and showcasing some of Ontario's brightest musical talent. From Peterborough to Blind River, from Ajax to Kenora, from Hamilton to Sudbury, audiences will have the opportunity to attend a free concert featuring at least three acts. More than 50 Ontario artists will be part of the ONtour Concert Series and approximately 80,000 people are expected to attend the free concerts across the province.

"The ONtour Concert at Live on the Waterfront adds another sensational feature to the best summer events season Thunder Bay has ever seen," said Ash Young - Cultural Development & Events Supervisor. "We are thrilled to be able to partner with ONtour to bring Ontario talent of this caliber to Thunder Bay this summer."

Live on the Waterfront is presented by Ontario Power Generation and runs every Wednesday evening at Marina Park from July 12 to August 30.
