The 2019 Mayor’s Mulligan Golf Tournament presented by TD, announced today that $15,694.18 was raised during this year’s event in support of PRO Kids. This bringing the total raised in the past 15 years to $208,694.18 for charitable organizations. A cheque was presented by Mayor Bill Mauro to Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator, at City Hall on Monday, Oct. 7.
“My thanks to the sponsors, donors, volunteers and players for taking part in this year’s tournament,” said Mayor Bill Mauro. “This event is important in both raising funds and spreading awareness of the important services that PRO Kids provides in our community. It was a great day and we raised significant funds. I am looking forward to doing it again next year and invite residents and businesses to join us.”
PRO Kids, which stands for positive recreation opportunities for kids, places children in activities when their families cannot afford the fees. Community programs such as this help children and youth develop leadership, teamwork, self-esteem, and relationship building that are important in a child’s development.
