The 16th Annual Mayor’s Mulligan will run as a special Putting Edition this year in support of PRO Kids. The annual event, which has cumulatively raised $208,500 to date, will be offered in a different format to accommodate the current COVID-19 climate.

The Mayor's Mulligan: Putting Edition will take place Friday, Sept. 11, at Chapples Golf Course. Participants can drop by the putting green any time from 9 am to 8 pm, and test their skills. No advanced registration is required. Scores will be tabulated and there will be a chance to win great prizes.

“Many golf tournaments were cancelled this summer and we know people have missed the camaraderie and fun that accompanies these events,” said Laura Daniele, PRO Kids Coordinator. “We wanted to mark the day of Mayor’s Mulligan by offering something on a smaller scale with the hope of running the tournament to its full potential next year.”

All funds raised will be in support of PRO Kids. PRO Kids is a registered charity that makes recreation opportunities accessible to Thunder Bay children and youth who are otherwise unable to afford program fees. As activities start back up, PRO Kids wants to ensure that all children, regardless of their family’s income, have the opportunity to participate in sports and arts, particularly during this time of isolation and inactivity.

Cost of participation will start at $10 per person, with mulligan add-on opportunities. Participants are encouraged to bring their own putter and three golf balls. All participants are asked to practice social distancing during the event.

The City of Thunder Bay and PRO Kids recognize and thank TD Bank for returning as the event’s presenting sponsor.
