The City of Thunder Bay is pleased to announce that the City has reached a Memorandum of Settlement with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966.

The Union voted in favour of ratifying the deal last night. Next steps will see the deal go to City Council for ratification in early April. Until then, no details of the settlement will be released.

“We appreciate the impactful work ATU employees provide to our city and are pleased to have reached a deal,” said Norm Gale, City Manager. “It’s a credit to the bargaining teams on both sides as we look ahead to continuing to provide service excellence to residents.”

ATU Local 966 represents about 165 City workers, including Transit Operators and Transit Maintenance staff.
