Employees of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS, and Thunder Bay Public Library proudly pledged $117,000.30 to the United Way today following the close of the Municipal Division's 24th Annual United Way Employee Campaign.
At a special wrap-up celebration, cheques were presented to the United Way valued at:
- Thunder Bay Public Library: $1,396.50
- Superior North EMS: $24,948.30
- City of Thunder Bay: $90,655.50
“I’d like to thank all of the Municipal employees who showed their generosity during this campaign,” said Kelly Robertson, General Manager of Community Services and Municipal Division Campaign Co-Chair. “We have come together to support the United Way of Thunder Bay and make a difference in our community, addressing issues that are #unignorable.”
Over the past 24 years, the Municipal Division Employee Campaign has given $3,063,849 to the United Way to support their efforts. Employees contribute through payroll deduction, monetary donations, Dress Down/Different Days, special departmental initiatives, and events like the Kick-off Luncheon and the United Way Mystery Dinner Theatre.
“Our thanks to the many volunteers who worked hard to support this campaign since it kicked off back in September,” said Joyce Ferrari, Municipal Division Campaign Co-Chair. “The funds raised through events and activities would not have been possible without their dedication and commitment.”
Well over 50 per cent of Municipal Division employees financially contributed towards the United Way Campaign, which was organized and supported by more than 250 tremendous volunteers. The Executive Committee would also like to acknowledge and thank the staff of the United Way for their ongoing support and assistance during this campaign.
