Employees of the City of Thunder Bay, Superior North EMS (SNEMS) and the Thunder Bay Public Library (TBPL) proudly kicked off their 2022 United Way Employee Campaign today at a luncheon at the West Thunder Community Centre.

“I am delighted to see employees from across the Corporation come together to support the United Way and help launch our Annual Campaign,” said Kelly Robertson, General Manager – Community Services, luncheon co-organizer along with Joyce Ferrari.

“Each year, our employees generously support and contribute to United Way, both through financial donations and volunteer hours. The Municipal Division Employees’ United Way Campaign has raised more than $3,370,516 since its inception in 1996.”

Municipal employees contribute to the United Way Employee Campaign primarily through payroll deduction. The Kick-Off Luncheon provides the opportunity to bring employees together, host mini fundraisers such as the 50/50 draw, and bring awareness to the campaign and its goal to become a community free from poverty.

The City would like to thank its municipal employees, The United Way of Thunder Bay, and event sponsors and prize donors for their support. The funds raised through the campaign will help to meet people’s basic needs, help youth graduate, and create a connected, inclusive community.
