An issue with a new wheel that was recently replaced caused the Muskeg Express train ride at Centennial Park to come off the track. No injuries were reported from the incident.

The issue has been repaired but as is required, the derailment was reported to the Technical Safety and Standards Authority (T.S.S.A) and it is expected their review of the incident will take up to three weeks. The train will remain out of service until the T.S.S.A review is complete.

The Muskeg Express last came off the track in 2021, but after assessing and addressing the root cause it operated in 2022 without issue.

The City’s Parks & Open Spaces Section will issue an announcement when the ride re-opens.
