December 14, 2016 - Following an extensive search and hiring process, City Manager Norm Gale is pleased to announce Linda Evans as the new General Manager of the City's Corporate Services & Long Term Care Department and City Treasurer.

Ms. Evans is a Chartered Professional Accountant with 23 years of managerial experience in the Provincial government. She was the Manager of Finance and Administrative Services with the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development, Postsecondary Education Division. She also has extensive experience working with various Federal and Provincial departments including as Co-Chair of the Provincial Repayment Assistance Program committee, a Federal- Provincial Working Group.

Ms. Evans has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lakehead University, and continuing education including the Executive Development Program at Ivey Business School, Western University.

"I look forward to the energy, passion and skill that Linda will bring to the position," said Norm Gale, City Manager. "She will be an asset to the Executive Leadership Team."

The Corporate Services & Long Term Care Department manages the development of effective control measures for the protection of the City's assets and resources, maintenance of the books of accounts, financial planning including fiscal policy recommendations, budgeting, debt administration, acquisition of materials, supplies and services for all City Departments, and administration of the Court Services Division.

"For the past year, Rob Colquhoun has acted as the department's General Manager and Treasurer and he has done terrific work in leading his teams through the budget processes for 2016 and 2017, and in providing overall leadership to the Department," added Gale. "Mr. Colquhoun will return to his position of Director of Revenue, and I look forward to his continuing contributions as a senior leader in the Corporation."

Ms. Evans begins her role as the General Manager of Corporate Services & Long Term Care Department and City Treasurer effective Jan. 16, 2017.
