January 31, 2017 - Over 35 nominees in 15 categories will be celebrated at the City of Thunder Bay's 7th Annual Arts & Heritage Awards, presented by Copperfin Credit Union. The achievements and contributions of these talented local artists, historians, cultural organizations and businesses will be recognized at the awards show, hosted by CBC's Lisa Laco, on Thursday, Feb. 16, at Magnus Theatre.

"These awards are about celebrating the nominees and their memorable contributions to making Thunder Bay a culturally rich place to live," said Ash Young, Cultural Development & Events Supervisor. "We are proud to support and congratulate all the nominees."

The nominees represent a wide spectrum of culture in Thunder Bay including visual art, film, music, theatre, literature, history, businesses, volunteers and supporters. A highlight of this year's awards show will be the new categories that recognize lifetime and professional achievements. Fifteen custom created awards by local artist boyRoland will be presented to the award recipients.

"We're proud to sponsor the Thunder Bay Arts & Heritage Awards as part of our commitment to give back to our communities and prioritize local initiatives," said Allison Kasper, Senior Vice President, Copperfin Credit Union. "Whether it's volunteering with a charity or donating to a not-for-profit group, we're committed to making our communities better for everyone."
