OCTOBER 7-13, 2023


WHEREAS, Bill 45, An Act to Proclaim “Ontario Cadets Week” was passed into law by the Lieutenant Governor on April 11, 2022. The three Cadet programs of Ontario, the Navy, (Sea) Air, and Army (Jr. Rangers) will be recognized annually across the Province of Ontario in the first week of October; and

WHEREAS, The City of Thunder Bay acknowledges the importance of the Cadet movement across Canada and in particular Thunder Bay, which has all three cadet programs. The Cadet movement in Thunder Bay and surrounding area have provided youth development through physical fitness, leadership skills, personal health and well being, as well as engagement in active citizenship development for over 80 years. The city also recognizes those that support the programs through their unwavering leadership and commitment.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Ken Boshcoff, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay, do hereby proclaim October 7-13, 2023, to be Ontario Cadets Week in the City of Thunder Bay. The city is pleased to support this second official Cadet Week.
