September 18, 2017 - The Chief Building Officials from 24 large municipalities across Ontario are gathering in Thunder Bay this week, from Sept. 19 - 22, for their Annual Fall Meeting. This is the first time the event will be held in Thunder Bay.

"We are pleased to be hosting a gathering of this magnitude," said Des Stolz, Chief Building Official & Director of Building Services, City of Thunder Bay. "We also plan to showcase some of our local attractions while they are visiting us."

Chief Building Officials are responsible for building code enforcement in the province. Chaired by Ralph Kaminski, Chief Building Official, City of Waterloo, the Annual Fall Meeting will include meetings with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Ministry staff to discuss new code changes and issues that affect all new building construction across the province. Hon. Bill Mauro, Minister of Municipal Affairs, will be meeting with the group on Friday.
