Phase two of the Main Street Bridge rehabilitation will commence on Monday, March 4.
The Main Street Bridge, located between Isabel Street and Hammond Avenue, is undergoing rehabilitation to improve and repair key elements of the structure in order to increase its lifespan and provide a reliable and safe means of transportation for years to come.
Phase two work will include continuing concrete repairs on the piers and coating of the structural steel. There will be a continuous road closure during the construction to allow for work on the piers for approximately two months starting in March. Those travelling in the area are to use the detour routes provided and obey all traffic personnel and signage to ensure a safe working environment.
Phase one of the rehabilitation took place in 2018. Work included repairing the deteriorated concrete, coating of steel and waterproofing and paving of the bridge deck.
