The City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation & Culture Division is excited to announce that the 41st Annual Kite Festival, presented by Ontario Power Generation, will return to Chippewa Park this Sunday, June 9 from 11am to 3pm.

Chippewa Park's carnival rides will be operational and food vendors will be on site. Tickets for rides and food options are available for purchase.

Some highlights include:

  • Free flying zone where the public can fly their own kites
  • 200 kites to be given away throughout the event
  • Kite making and craft projects with Community Arts & Heritage Education Project (CAHEP)
  • Spooky science activities with Science North
  • Bouncy castles
  • Bubble Station
  • Giant outdoor games
  • Activities with Healthy Kids & Youth Move
  • Face painting
  • Food vendors ($)
  • Community group booths

 

FREE shuttles will be running from Intercity Shopping Centre to Chippewa Park. Riders should park in the old Lowe’s parking area:

  • Depart from Intercity Shopping Centre at 11am, 11:30am, 12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm
  • Depart from Chippewa Park 11:30 am, 12pm, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm
