JUNE 2021

WHEREAS, Thunder Bay celebrates the diversity that strengthens our city, including individuals who identify as two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and all other sexual orientations and gender identities; and

WHEREAS, the intent is to encourage Thunder Bay to be an inclusive and welcoming place for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to attend school, to work, to raise a family, to start a business, to live; and

WHEREAS, Thunder Pride Association & Rainbow Collective of Thunder Bay promises to provide hope and support for our youth and other community members who experience bullying and harassment based on their sexual orientation or gender identity; and

WHEREAS, the events and activities celebrated throughout Pride Month 2021 will provide family entertainment, community education and an improvement in the overall quality of life in Thunder Bay.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Bill Mauro, Mayor of the City of Thunder Bay do hereby proclaim June 2021 as Pride month in the City of Thunder Bay.
