The skating rink at Prince Arthur’s Landing will officially open on a daily basis from 12 pm to 8 pm beginning on Monday, Dec. 7.

Changes have been put in place for safety during COVID-19. At this time, the Water Garden Facility will remain closed until further notice. While the facility is closed, users are encouraged to come prepared and dress accordingly.

Additional benches will be placed around the rink for users to put their skates on, and portable washrooms will be available. Rink users must maintain a two-metre distance from other users, and capacity limits will be posted on site. Skating aids will not be available. Staff are asking for the public’s assistance to follow guidelines that help keep others safe while they enjoy the rink.

"Residents and visitors of all ages and abilities are encouraged to enjoy skating at the waterfront throughout the winter months,” said Louisa Costanzo, Supervisor of Cultural Development & Events.

“We want to remind the community that we rely on our staff, cleaners, and the public to work together to adhere to all safety standards so that we can continue to offer recreational opportunities like this for families."

She added that residents should stay home if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, wear a face covering when required and keep appropriate physical distance from others to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
