During budget deliberations, City Council approved reinstating the post-budget consultation meeting to receive feedback from members of the public prior to budget ratification.

Those interested in speaking to City Council on the proposed budget can come forward on Monday, Feb. 4 to sign-up. Individuals will be allowed 10 minutes to speak, and priority will be given on a first come, first serve basis. There is no need to register in advance, and individuals can arrive any time after 6 pm. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.

Additional amendments to the budget at last night’s meeting resulted in a proposed tax levy increase of 1.99% net of growth. The budget increase was initially proposed at 2.95% net of growth.

Ratification of the budget is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 11.
