Two Superior North EMS (SNEMS) paramedics are being credited with stopping and preventing serious injuries to a person who was being assaulted.
At about 5 pm on Tuesday afternoon a paramedic crew was pulling up to the Westfort Paramedic Station when they observed what they appeared to be a possible robbery and assault in progress of an older gentlemen by three younger males.
The paramedics immediately contacted police and pulled directly up to the scene. As they exited the ambulance to assist the victim, the assailants discontinued their assault and fled the scene. The victim was treated by the paramedics for minor injuries and declined going to the hospital. Police arrived on scene shortly after.
“Thanks to the quick actions of these two paramedics, they were able to prevent the victim from becoming seriously injured,” said Chief Gates of SNEMS.
