Residents are invited to a free open house that will highlight the important work that our public works professionals do every day to keep the city running.

The public works open house will take place on Saturday, September 23, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Mountdale Public Works Yard, 410 Mountdale Ave. The open house will feature:

  • Vehicle displays of a garbage truck, snowplow, tree truck, excavator, front-end loader, fire truck, the Python 5000, and more!
  • Music, snacks and kids’ activities including a bouncy castle, games and more
  • Chances to win great prizes

The city’s water bar will also be on site, and those planning to attend the event are encouraged to bring a water bottle. The first 200 attendees will receive a free water bottle.

“Public works professionals work hard to provide and maintain essential public services and are often hidden heroes. They provide clean drinking water, build roads and bridges, remove snow on roadways, and so much more,” said Kerri Marshall, General Manager – Infrastructure, Development & Operations.

“Public works professionals help keep our city running and contribute to our city's quality of life. We look forward to seeing everyone at our open house and showcasing the great work that these professionals do each and every day.”
