Beginning at 7 pm this evening, a section of Arthur Street between Highway 61 and Mountdale Avenue will be partially closed for pavement resurfacing work. The work will involve partially removing the existing asphalt pavement and placing two new lifts of asphalt pavement.

The repaving work will be completed in phases. During the first phase, eastbound traffic lanes will be closed and only westbound traffic will be permitted. This work is expected to take two to three days to complete.

During the second phase, also expected to take two to three days to complete, westbound traffic lanes will be closed and only eastbound traffic will be permitted.

During the third phase of the work, the eastbound lanes will close for placement of the final lift of asphalt pavement. Then, in the fourth phase, the westbound lanes will be closed for placement of the final lift of asphalt pavement. Work on the two final phases is expected to take two days to complete.

All resurfacing work will be completed during the night, between 7 pm and 7 am.

Drivers are asked to use caution when driving through the construction zone.
