October 10, 2017 - The City is excited to begin public consultation on the development of a new website. To create a site that meets the needs of users, citizens are invited to complete the online survey at www.ThunderBay.ca available until Nov. 17. Feedback gathered through the survey will help to guide the development of the new City website.

For those looking to get more involved, there will also be a focus group opportunity in early December. An application for the focus group is available on the closing page of the survey.

"We recognize that needs have changed since our last website renewal nine years ago, and we need to change too," said Karen Lewis, Director - Corporate Strategic Services. "We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to share their input. This new website will follow best practice design and be developed with the latest technology, but we also want it to reflect the specific needs of our citizens. We are looking to hear what residents want to see on the site and how they would like to access that information."

The City has partnered with eSolutions Group to develop and host the new site which will be launched in 2018. The new site will be mobile-friendly, integrated with social media, designed as a hub for citizen engagement and reflective of Thunder Bay through vibrant imagery and design.
It will offer easier, faster access to information and online services, improved search capabilities, enhanced accessibility, an emergency messaging system, and will feature the latest City news, events and highlights.

The new City of Thunder Bay website is part of an overall website renewal which will also see the development of a new Tourism Thunder Bay website, and includes moving over the existing websites which run on the current system to the new hosted eSolutions system. This includes the Superior North EMS website, the Community Economic Development Commission website, the Northwestern Ontario Immigration Portal and the Go To Thunder Bay website.
