The City invites residents to share their views in an online survey regarding the Reimagining the North Core Streetscapes Study. The Study will help guide the redesign of the streets in the downtown North Core.

Summer 2021 saw the implementation of pilot projects including widened boulevards along Red River Road and increased angled parking on Cumberland Street. Additionally, on Van Norman Street and Park Avenue, a one-way street configuration and increased angled parking are being piloted, which will extend through the winter months.

Resident feedback on the pilot projects will further guide the detailed design of the North Core Streetscape Study.

“Our ultimate goal is to help create a space in the Downtown North Core that is accessible and inclusive, but also a place where residents want to spend their time,” said Steven Murphy, Project Manager – North Core Streetscapes Study. “Resident input is essential to identifying what aspects of the pilot projects have been successful and to create a downtown that meets the needs of tomorrow.”

The survey will be open to residents until Monday, Nov. 29. To learn more about the project, and to take the survey, visit our Get Involved page.
