August 4, 2016 - The City of Thunder Bay is proud to welcome the 'Duluth Youth Art Exhibition' to theBaggage Building Art Centre at Prince Arthur's Landing Aug. 5-31.
"Sister Cities Thunder Bay and Duluth are delighted to present the 'Duluth Youth Art Exhibition'," said William Hryb, Sister Cities Committee Thunder Bay/Duluth Liaison. "Through the medium of youth art, our mutual relationship is enriched by the strong ties that already exist between our wonderful Lake Superior cities."
The exhibition will be on display through the month of August. Located in the renovated and expanded historic freight shed at the waterfront, the Baggage Building Arts Centre was envisioned as a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration that complements and adds to the City's programming and events at Prince Arthur's Landing.
The Arts Centre is open Monday - Friday, 11 am - 5 pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 12 - 5 pm, year-round.
The Arts Centre presents and supports:
"¢ performances, celebrations, festivals, public and community events;
"¢ the creation and production of a wide range of arts activities with a focus on the multi-disciplinary performing and visual arts;
"¢ learning, skills development, and participation with a special commitment to young people as outlined in the Inspire Thunder Bay Culture Plan;
"¢ collaboration, exchange and dialogue between individuals, communities and organizations; and
"¢ a sense of community, well-being and social engagement.
