December 19 , 2017 - The waterfront skating rink and change area at Prince Arthur's Landing are open daily throughout the holidays from 11 am - 9 pm. The only exceptions are Christmas Eve, when the facility closes at 3 pm, and Christmas Day, when both the rink and Water Garden Pavilion are completely closed.

The City of Thunder Bay encourages residents to visit the waterfront and enjoy the many activities and facilities available to the public. The first Winter Funday is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 31 from 2 - 4 pm with the Thunder Bay Skating Academy.

"The rink offers fun for both young and old alike and the City is excited to offer free outdoor skating for all to enjoy throughout the winter months," said Kathy Ball, Operations Coordinator at Marina Park. "There is so much to do here at the waterfront. Visitors can check out the Baggage Building Art Centre activities or explore the cleared trails throughout the park while taking in the unparalleled views and natural surroundings of Thunder Bay's waterfront."

For more information on the skating rink, call the Water Garden Pavilion at 684-2080.
