November 5, 2016 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue honored both new and veteran firefighters at a Long-Service and New Recruit Graduation Ceremony today at the Thunder Bay Fire & Emergency Services Regional Training Complex. Six new recruits and eleven current employees of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were honored at today's ceremony.
"Recruit class graduations are some of the proudest days for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue," said Fire Chief John Hay who led the ceremony with participation by MP Patty Hajdu, MP Don Rusnak, MPP Bill Mauro and Mayor Keith Hobbs. "It's important to recognize the hard work and dedication these individuals have put in to reach this point. We thank each new and current employee and their families for their commitment to the Fire Service and the citizens of Thunder Bay."
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue is pleased to recognize a diverse graduating class this year. The recruit class includes Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's very first two female Firefighters to be offered positions at the City of Thunder Bay.

The new recruits, who completed a rigorous 22-week training program under the Training Division of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, will join their new shifts early next week.
