To allow children to take full advantage of the mild summer weather and delayed school start, two of the City’s splash pads, at the North End Recreation Centre and at Franklin Park, will remain open up to and including Labour Day, Sept. 7. In addition, the County Park splash pad will operate until Sunday, Aug. 30, at which time it will close for the end of summer.

“We’re pleased to be able to keep two splash pads available until Labour Day,” said Cory Halvorsen, Manager of Parks & Open Spaces. “It’s been a warm summer, and we hope to continue to enjoy more of the same through the first week of September.”

Splash pads are open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 pm to 7 pm. Physical distancing and sanitation measures are in place, and splash pads are staffed during operating hours.
