The construction on Edward Street, between Ward Avenue and William Street, is nearing completion and will fully reopen soon. The original planned date for reopening Edward Street between William Street and University Drive was scheduled for today. However, this has been pushed back in order to complete final street lighting work.
The revised reopening of this section of Edward Street is planned for late next week.
The reconstruction on Edward Street involved considerable investment in our infrastructure, and consisted of replacing the existing watermain, construction of the roundabout, and pavement resurfacing. In addition, the Edward Street Bridge, just south of this section of road, was replaced this year and will be open to traffic today.
Residents are encouraged to become familiar with how to safely drive, walk and cycle safely through a roundabout. Information on the City’s new roundabout, as well as an education video is available on our Roundabout page
