November 2, 2016 - Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was recently featured at the International Association for Fire Chiefs Annual Conference & Expo in San Antonio Texas.
WebsEdge, a global TV production company, partnered with the International Association for Fire Chiefs to produce a series of pre-recorded films that highlight the work of leading fire departments in North America.
"The films document ground breaking initiatives, the use of state-of-the-art technology and best practices in improving fire departments and the communities they serve," said Fire Chief John Hay.
"Along with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, four other fire departments were featured from San Diego, California, Miramar, Florida, Edmonton, Alberta, and Idaho Falls, Idaho."
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's film focused on firefighter wellness and health and safety initiatives, public safety and public education initiatives, the benefits of using fire science data, the high training standards used and a general overview of the types of calls they respond to.
"It's an honor for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue to be viewed as a leading fire department in North America," added Chief Hay.
"The fact that we were sought out to participate in this project is a testament to the hard work of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue's administration and staff and the continued support from City of Thunder Bay administration and council."
