May 6, 2016 - Construction work on Water Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 9, from Villa Street south to Cumberland, and is expected to last up to four days.

Improvements include milling and paving as well as manhole, valve and catch basin leveling. The work is expected to be complete within approximately eight days and will result in spot lane closures. The road will be reopened at night throughout the duration of the construction.

These improvements will restore the driving surface of this section of Water Street for the short-term, until long-term infrastructure projects are confirmed.

This is the first stage of a two-stage project. Extending from Pearl Street to Red River Road, the second stage on Water Street will involve similar work to be scheduled later this year.

The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors - such as weather - can have an impact on project timelines. Those travelling in the area are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage.
