Chippewa Summer Camps - Summer 2025

Chippewa Summer Camps is a registered week long summer camp program for children 5-13! We focus on nature-based activities and outdoor skill building  on the shores of Lake Superior. Each week is themed and packed with arts & crafts, sports & games, camp skills, swimming and more!

Scroll below to see weekly themes for both Chimpunk (Ages 5-8) and Bears (Ages 9-13) camps.

Evening Adventure at Chippewa Park. Instead of an overnight stay, Campers in the Bears group will experience a unique evening at Chippewa Park (see weeks 3 and 7 for Bears).

 

Registration

Registration for Summer 2025 will open on Monday April 7th, 2025

Chippewa Summer Camps Registration Fees will be released in March 2025.

 

Transportation

Bus transportation will be provided for campers. Families can select either Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool as designated Pick-up/Drop-off locations. Campers will be swimming daily in the afternoon at both pool locations.

Campers drop-off time is between 8-8:45am (buses leave at 9am sharp).

Campers pick-up time is between 4:30-5 PM daily.

Chipmunks (Ages 5-8)

July 7-11 Sunshine and Surprises

Welcome to the start of an unforgettable summer! The first week of camp is packed with sunny adventures, exciting surprises, and activities that will set the tone for the whole season. Get ready for a week full of fun, new friends, and unforgettable moments to kick off your summer in style!

July 14-18 Lights, Camera, Create!

Step into the spotlight and unleash your creativity! Campers will dive into the world of movies and storytelling through fun crafts, acting, and hands-on projects. Get ready for a week of imagination, costumes, and bringing your own movie magic to life!

July 21-25 Wild Ninja Adventures

Ready for action? Campers will train like true ninjas through obstacle courses, stealth challenges, and teamwork missions. It’s a week full of agility, problem-solving, and epic ninja fun!

July 28-Aug 1 Dino-Dreams & Wild Trails
Journey back in time for a prehistoric adventure! Campers will explore the world of dinosaurs through exciting games, crafts, and outdoor hikes. Plus, we’ll take a trip to Fort William Historical Park mid-week for a real-life adventure, where history and nature collide in this wild expedition!
Aug 5-8 (4 day week) Sportsters

Get ready to move and groove! Little campers will discover the joy of sports with easy-to-learn games, teamwork challenges, and friendly competition. It’s a fun-filled week of active play and mini sports stars in the making!

August 11-15 Summer Snow Days

Who says snow is just for winter? Campers will enjoy a cool mix of summer fun and winter magic with snowball fights, icy crafts, and sunny outdoor activities. Get ready for a week of frosty adventures under the sun!

August 18-22 Treasure Island

Ahoy, mateys! Campers will embark on a treasure hunt to uncover hidden gems through map-reading, puzzles, and pirate challenges. Set sail on a swashbuckling adventure full of mystery, teamwork, and buried treasure!

August 25-29 Sunny Send Off

Wrap up the summer with a bang! Each day of our final week will feature a new theme that will bring exciting adventures, games, and memories to make your last week unforgettable. It’s the perfect send-off to a fun-filled summer!

Bears (Ages 9-13)

July 7-11 The Adventure Begins

The countdown is over—let the summer fun start! Our first week is all about jumping into new adventures, making memories, and kicking off an epic camp season. With exciting activities, team challenges, and lots of surprises, it's the perfect start to a summer full of adventure!

July 14-18 STEAM-Tastic

Get ready to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Campers will dive into hands-on experiments, creative challenges, and exciting projects that spark curiosity and imagination. It’s a week of learning, building, and inventing fun!

July 21-25 Chippewa Ultimate Survivors*

It’s game time, survival style! Campers will compete in exciting challenges, build alliances, and face elimination-style games inspired by the hit TV show. With obstacle courses, team missions, and strategic challenges, only the toughest will become the Chippewa Ultimate Survivor! 

*On Friday night, the survival skills will continue into the evening at an Evening at Chippewa event. There will be no sleep-out, but instead campers will have a fun evening at Chippewa and be dropped off at Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool by 10:30pm.

July 28-Aug 1 Blast from the Past

Travel back in time and explore the fascinating history of our world! Campers will step into different eras through games, crafts, and interactive learning, including a field trip to Fort William Historical Park, where they’ll experience history firsthand. It's a week full of discovery and time-traveling fun!

Aug 5-8 (4 day week) Chippewa Champions

Step into the arena and show off your skills! Campers will compete in fun, friendly challenges and mini-tournaments to earn the title of Chippewa Champion. It’s a week of teamwork, sportsmanship, and exciting competitions where every camper can be a winner!

August 11-15 Chopped Chippewa

Get ready for a culinary showdown! With their team, campers will embark on a delicious adventure, facing mystery ingredients, timed challenges, and showcasing their creativity to become the ultimate Chopped Champion. Adventure, flavour and the thrill of the great outdoors await!

August 18-22 Amazing Race Chippewa*

In this high-energy camp, teams will have to work together to make it to the pit-stop at the end of each day. Racers will follow clues as they travel across the park and complete challenges to see which team can work together the most successfully. But be careful, there are detours, roadblocks, and even U-Turns that may trip up even the quickest teams! *On Friday night, the challenges will continue at an Evening at Chippewa event. There will be no sleep-out, but instead campers will have a fun evening at Chippewa and be dropped off at Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool by 10:30pm.

August 25-29 Sunny Send-Off

Things to know

  • Registration is required.
  • Chippewa is nut safe – any food sent from home must be nut safe.
  • Please pack plenty of water, food, athletic footwear and a hat, as well as a bathing suit & towel!
  • Ensure your child is wearing sunscreen.
  • A Participant Information Form is needed before the start of camp.
  • If your child has a disability or requires extra support, we welcome them to come with a PSW or support may be provided through Junior Inclusion Services.

 

Staff and volunteers

 Staff
All staff is trained in First Aid and HIGH FIVE. HIGH FIVE supports the healthy development of children in recreation and sport.

 Where are camps located?
Camps are based at Chippewa Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Superior
 Camp Environment

Maximum Camper to Leader ratio is 10 to 1.

 Transportation

Drop off and pick up is at Volunteer Pool or Churchill Pool (identify which location during registration). Bus transportation to Chippewa Park is provided by an accredited bus company for campers and staff.  

 Swimming

Weather dependent, there is also lifeguard supervised swimming at Sandy Beach near Chippewa Park a couple times throughout the week and three times a week at the pools at the end of the day from 3:30-4:30pm
