West Arthur Community Centre is a vibrant hub for the Thunder Bay community! Featuring a versatile main hall and multipurpose rooms, the Centre is perfect for hosting celebrations, events, and activities for all ages. In addition to being available for private rentals, the Centre offers a variety of drop-in and registration-based programs, providing opportunities for connection, recreation, and learning.

 Arthur Hall

The Arthur Hall is perfect for

  • Family and friends to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, showers and retirements
  • Teammates to gather for end of season wind-ups and awards nights
  • Trainers and Supervisors to lead training sessions, workshops or meetings
  • Instructors to lead fitness and recreational activities
  • Alcohol-free events

The Arthur Hall features a coat room and a serving area (formerly the bar service area). The service area has a sink and access to a large cooler for storing food and beverages for your event. 

As an addition to your rental of the Arthur Hall, you can also request the use of our Bluetooth speaker and microphone, and projector. 

 

West Arthur Room 

The West Arthur Room comfortably accommodates up to 25 people and it suitable for

  • smaller group meetings
  • craft and hobby group gatherings
  • small social gatherings
  • small group fitness classes such as yoga or pilates

Kitchen

Our full-service commercial kitchen boasts two ovens, elements, flat top grill, commercial dishwasher, and lots of counterspace. Dishware and eating utensils are also available for by renters. 

Craft Room 

The Craft Room is comfortably accommodates 8 to 10 people for a meeting or small gathering.

Play your best hand at our Tens Cribbage Tournament! 

 

$8 for 7 games, no advanced registration required. All players must be 18 years of age or older. 

Rotating partners and an opportunity to win cash prizes.

Winter FunDay at West Arthur 

Winter FunDays is an opportunity to enjoy FREE winter programming for the whole family. 

 

Celebrate Winter FunDays with West Arthur Community Centre and Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Center on Sunday February 23, 2025. 

Bannock Making with Indigenous Friendship Centre

Come gather around the fire and learn the art of making bannock! This hands-on event will teach you how to prepare and cook this traditional Indigenous bread over an open flame. Whether you're a seasoned baker or new to outdoor cooking, you'll enjoy the simple yet delicious process of making your own bannock.

Advisory Committee Opportunity

The City of Thunder Bay invites citizens to express their interest in serving on the West Arthur Community Centre Administrative Advisory Committee. The Recreation & Culture Division is currently seeking volunteers to fill two (2) vacancies on this committee.
